Image Adapted by Academy Award-nominee and Pulitzer Prize-winning author and director David Mamet (HANNIBAL, WAG THE DOG, THE VERDICT), COME BACK TO SORRENTO is one of Inevitable Film Group’s most inspiring feature film projects.

Based on the famous novel by Dawn Powell, COME BACK TO SORRENTO is the romantic tale of a worldly music teacher with a mysterious past who finds more than he anticipates when he travels to a small town in Ohio to teach music and falls in love with a housewife seeking a long forgotten dream.

Production is set for September 2010.
Pulitzer prize-winning and Academy Award-nominated writer and director DAVID MAMET teams up with innovative award-winning filmmaker MICHAEL WORTH and Inevitable Film Group for the dramatic feature film, COME BACK TO SORRENTO.

Director, actor and screenwriter Michael Worth walked off in September of 2008 with two of Visionfest’s most coveted awards: the Domani Vision Award for Emerging Talent and the Jack Nance "Breakthrough Performance" Award. Both awards were presented to Worth, honoring him as a distinctive filmmaker, while also recognizing his powerful acting turn for GOD’S EARS. Worth also wrote the aesthetically charged and emotionally gripping tale about an autistic man who aspires to become a professional boxer and his pursuit of love within the confines of his “condition.”

Michael Worth was chosen by Pulitzer prize-winning playwright, screenwriter and director David Mamet to direct Mamet’s next feature film project COME BACK TO SORRENTO, after viewing Worth's film festival award-winning gem, GOD’S EARS.

Worth recently directed Golden Globe Award-nominee Eric Stoltz and Golden Globe Award-winner Camryn Manheim in the dramatic World War II feature film FORT McCOY, set for theatrical release in 2009.

David Mamet, the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter of Barry Levinson’s WAG THE DOG, recently wrote and directed the 2008 Sony Pictures Classics martial arts dramatic feature thriller, RED BELT, starring Tim Allen, Joe Mantegna and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Mamet’s previous feature films include Brian DePalma’s THE UNTOUCHABLES, Ridley Scott’s HANNIBAL, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS and THE VERDICT, starring Paul Newman.

The screenplay for COME BACK TO SORRENTO was adapted by Mamet and his wife - actress, singer and songwriter Rebecca Pidgeon - from the recently rediscovered Dawn Powell novel of the same title.

Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actors William H. Macy  and Felicity Huffman, and actor Rebecca Pidgeon, are attached to perform in COME BACK TO SORRENTO set for production in April of 2009.

David Mamet; Michael Worth and his production company, Grizzly Peak Films; producer Gigi Garner and Inevitable Film Group producers Ron Farber and Stephen Wozniak, have joined together to finance and produce COME BACK TO SORRENTO.
